Lest we forget - Lloyd George Boer War cartoon poster
Description
As the Boer war was coming to an end in December 1901, the Birmingham Liberal Association invited Lloyd George to give a speech in the Town Hall criticising Britain's colonial policy. Those who opposed Lloyd George's views started a riot at the Town Hall, forcing the politician to escape the fray disguised in a policeman's uniform, an act ridiculed in the cartoon by the Conservatives.
