Black Sabbath were an English heavy metal band formed in Birmingham in 1968 and were previously known as 'Polka Tulk Blues Band, and 'Earth' before settling on 'Black Sabbath' in 1969. Their signature sound gave birth to the genre of Heavy Metal music and they went on to inspire generations of bands and still do even after the death of Ozzy Osbourne in 2025.
