There was a magic performance from Birmingham’s Steve Gibbons Band at the height of their live mastery. They were probably the best live band in the country at the time. And then they supported ELO, The Electric Light Orchestra. Lovely set full of hits, and a first for me of lasers. Jeff Lynne, the leader, explained to the audience, you don't have to duck, they're not dangerous. Because the audience were all ducking because these red beams were shooting out and the audience are ducking to the floor because all we knew about lasers was they were supposed to shoot down rockets in space and stuff.
