Armando Anthony "Chick" Corea was born in 1941 in Massachusetts and died in 2021 in Florida. He was an American jazz pianist, composer, bandleader, and sometime percussionist. As a member of the Miles Davis band in the 1960s, Corea was instrumental in the birth of jazz fusion.
